  on reading the september issues of watchtower and awake, i had a good laugh at the hypocrisy that leaped out at me.awake sept 8th 2002 :"to believe that numerological interpretations are accurate, when they are based upon such widely variable factors as calendar and language, is to stretch the limits of credibility to an absurd degree.".

  considering the amount of ridiculous number crunching done by the society, how amazing that they print that statement!

  if i remember rightly 607 date is based on an interpretation of calendar dates and the 'language' of the bible (which they always manage to skew to their doctrine).

  It really makes me laugh about the anointed class. Having known one of these individuals and heard many tales of her little adventures, I can only draw the conclusion that she was as mad as a hatter and severly deluded.

  As for having faced practically every problem faced by humans? How many of you guys who have known these people, have seen them lorded over in the congregation and worshipped almost? Given the best comforts that brothers can afford etc etc ...

  I know people who have gone through hell and are more deserving of praise than these sweet, sweet, fools. People who the body of the truth wouldn't pass water over.

  Going out in service......once again.

  well...it's sunday again and its time for me to get ready to go "out in service".. exept now, instead of putting on a long dowdy skirt , blouse up to my fricking neck and geeky shoes, i will be putting on sweat pants,a tee shirt and high top rebocks.. instead of carry a bag with watchtowers and awakes..i have a backpack with leaflets about protecting your children.. 25 years ago if anyone told me i would be doing this i would have said your out of your mind!!.

  thank you wt for stripping my dignity away by sending me door to door preaching your bull shit.. because now...every door i go to i am slowing regaining my dignity and self worth.. thank you wt for training me so well...how does it feel to have your own "weapon" aimed back at you??

  Enthusiasm doesn't come into the equation for me, Sleepy. If you knew me, you would know that my energy levels can be very low at times and I still hold my belief.

  I am an emotional being though and do work from the heart, I admit. So my theory is based upon feeling, more than wading through journals studying other peoples words and insights.

  I am looking into this area again now, with a fresh pair of eyes, to round out my opinions.

  An interesting set of articles that I shall bookmark and read through.

  I do believe in creation JanH, but also throw in the possibility for a species to adapt due to circumstance etc ... evolve if you like in order to survive.

  At a very base level there is complex mathematics at work within the universe and I still believe that this math shows intelligent design at some stage. I can't completely move away from this thought and dismiss a creative entity.

  as one sees the facts of science and learns that evolution is a fact one then begins to look at the collateral effects and circumstances of the human situation and as one of the sojourners who has come down this path i find myself looking at things in a new context.

  first the basis of my position is that evolution is true and that the darwinist viewpoint holds true that it is all about survival.

  with everything being about survival how do i view the world?

  OK that old chestnut the blood issue

  i know that this topic has been discussed at great length many times before but i would like to share with you my experiences with jws that knock on my door when i have presented them with this hypothetical situation.. "just suppose that you have two children, one has haemophilia and is being treated with factor v111 which is derived from blood and permissable according to the wtbts as an act of conscience, taken and stored from a worldly person possibly even an apostate, permissable because it is a small fraction even though it takes litres of blood to extract this factor v111.

  you also have another child that because of an accident is in danger of bleeding to death and needs oxygen carrying red blood cells to buy this child time until the bleeding has been brought under control the blood comes from the same source and also stored, but is not permissable by the wtbts would your conscience tell you to let this second child die".

  # 1 jw frantically starts seaching through their little black bag "oh i am sure i have an answer to this in here, oh well, maybe i came without it" says to # 2 jw "do you have it by any chance" .

  I would say its a matter of conscience myself. I never felt easy with the blood issue and never will.

  There is good science going into this area now - there have been warnings put out in the UK about the poor state of the medical blood supply and this will no doubt firm the WTS argument. Non-blood alternatives become more desirable (although can prove expensive I believe).

  In reality though, it is an emotive issue and best left with the individual to decide - not the WTS !

  although he is loveable............... i love animals, i have two dogs, a black lab named snoopy and a pug, named pug.

  sometimes we call him pig, or dig, or mama's little baby.

  Have two cats - Dizzy & Emma -

  + a garden full of birds / bees / ants etc

  Would like a spider monkey, but would never take one out of the wild.

  i have a gap in my knowledge re some of the procedures that come into play when someone decides that they simply don't want to be a witness any more.

  just to explain:.

  in my dub years, there were any number of ex-witnesses around.
